This year’s theme, “Children of Srebrenica: stories of grief and resilience”, highlights the experiences of those who endured the lasting consequences of genocide in childhood and whose stories continue to speak to both profound loss and remarkable strength. This commemoration is an important occasion to remember the victims of Srebrenica, stand in solidarity with survivors and their families, and reinforce the importance of remembrance, education and moral responsibility.
